These three scarves are samples of a variation on a theme.
All of them are woven on the same warp -
all woven with different threads in the weft.
Green is the color for the Pentecost season of the church year. It runs from spring until the first Sunday in Advent. It is designated as the season of "the church in the world". This of course coincides with the seasons of planting, growth and harvest - and so the color green. One of the fascinating discoveries when working with color is to observe its presentation in nature - full of surprises. All sorts of green appear together! When I weave I like to play with what would often be judged as disonence - colors that are not thought of together but which in fact grow together. I frequently add metalic threads to the warp because I think there is sparkle and excitement it the most ordinary of times.
