The weft (horizontal threads) in the banners shows a progression of the seasons of the church and calendar year. It begins with earth tones in the lower portions and moves up in varying shades of green interspersed with yellows and blues and reds and lavenders. These brighter colors represent the highlights of spring, summer and fall, as well as the God-given qualities of joy and hope, passion and tenderness – qualities that come into play in each of our lives as we creatively live out our faith in the world.
The hangings on the altar, pulpit and lectern – as well as the communion veil and burse and banners – feature vertical gold and silver bands representing heaven in all its beauty, richness and fullness.
