Here are three items knit to order for a little girl who loves blue and for a baby boy too young to care about color! The sweater however is loaded with meaning for the parents. The white linen / cotton yarn was spun in Ireland (the mother's heritage). The varigated green yarn comes from Italy (the father's birth place). It is interesting that in the US with all of its patriotic values almost everyone holds tightly to the countries of their family heritage. So Irish/Italian it is!
The blue poncho and the blue hat are for a 4 year old swedish blond who proclaims with authority that "All the Girls in my house love blue." One of the things I love most about knitting-sewing-weaving-making candles ... is the story that comes with the project - especially when children are in on the decision making.
