Candle Making
Colonial Williamsburg is one of the nation’s living legacies. We can immerse ourselves in the past and feel its power in the present. Spending time in „the colonies“ convinced me even more than my academic work that „hands on“ was the way to experience and share history. My brother, an early guardian of my creativity, gave me a reproduction candle mold from Williamsburg. Since that time 35 years ago I have been recycling old candles into new tapers. I continue to order my pounds of wick from the Williamsburg Restoration. Candles from this mold are especially suited for the smaller openings in many antique holders. Cold Pennsylvania winter days are perfect for making and using candles!
